Team She Sails is basically a group of ‘chicks who dig sailing’. Started in December 2012 as a match racing team because that’s just the best there is: the excitement of only 15 minutes to play for; the all-or-nothing game and intensive crew works which will make or break your performance. The aim for the 2015 season is to climb to the top 10 of the ISAF women’s match racing world ranking. During the summer of 2014 Rikst Dijkstra switched from tactics to the helm: an architect when not sailing. She started racing in the youth squads in dinghy classes as many sailors and switched to keel boats and yachts during university. As a J22 and Farr 30 helm and X-35 and Melges 24 successful tactician, she’s a helm not to under estimate! Further, the team has a great support group, joining the team for training sessions or as substitute/extra crew during events.
