– will boost brand awareness and positive attitude on key markets

The Women’s International Match Racing Series announced today the signing of Sebago as the new official clothing partner for the Series. For all sailors Sebago is well known for their Docksides shoes, but in Scandinavia Sebago has also built a reputation as a top-of-the-line clothing brand. Scandinavian Sebago distributor Trendmark is now expanding the clothing line to other markets, using the WIM Series as a platform in the marketing communication:
“In the WIM Series we’ve found a worthy partner for our growth on key markets” says Philip Ericson, CEO of Trendmark AB in Sweden.
“Trendmark has been a partner to Lysekil Women’s Match since the first event in 2004, and I’m very pleased to see them adding an international perspective by joining the WIM Series” says Anna Holmdahl White, founder of the Swedish event and Commercial Manager of the WIM Series.

The WIM Series saw its inaugural season in 2013 and is indeed the premier international match racing series for women, although in maritime heritage the Series cannot compete with legendary Sebago. Founded in New England in 1946 and named by the North American lake Sebago, the brand has, since the introduction of the famous Docksides original shoe in the 1970’s, been synonymous with sailors and yachting. Joining forces with the WIM Series, Sebago will take advantage of the great and growing interest in women match racing internationally, and especially in Europe and the USA:
“We’ve evaluated what we’ve been able to achieve through our long-time partnership with Lysekil Women’s Match, hoping to get the same or even better effect from this new involvement in the WIM Series” Philip Ericson comments.
“Bringing the prestigious Sebago brand onboard the WIM Series is truly an acknowledgment, not only of the strength of the Series itself, but also of women’s match racing in general” concludes Liz Baylis, WIM Series Manager and Women’s International Match Racing Association Executive Director.
